We bring books to New Orleans residents at all reading levels. Our programs are free and provide users with engaging, relevant books that they are excited to read.
Community Libraries
Shelters and community programs often receive donated books but don't have the staff to sort, organize, and keep them current. We build, stock, and maintain curated libraries in shelters, residential programs, senior centers, and community spaces. We visit monthly or twice a month to refresh collections, and partners can reach us anytime with requests. We also help families leaving shelters start home libraries of their own.
Schools & Educators
Teachers often buy books with their own money. We help schools make the most of the libraries they already have by organizing and updating their collections. We work with teachers to build and refresh classroom libraries, and we loan curated sets of books for themed units, then pass them on to the next classroom when the unit wraps up. We visit regularly and stay in touch so teachers can request what their students need.
Families & Events
From board books for babies to read-alouds at community events, we bring books to caregivers and families so a love of reading starts early and grows at home. We take part in community events, baby showers, and book giveaways across the city, helping families leave with books chosen just for them.
